VIS provides a blended method of resources to assist in being a successful inspector. Whether you are a brand new inspector or an experienced veteran in the disaster housing inspection industry, VIS will provide ongoing resources and support to keep you ready for deployment. Once you have successfully registered and completed the adjudication process, our Resource Library is available for access within the Vanguard Time and Expense system (https://time.vanguardhis.com/index.php?q=login)

VIS University – Learning Management System

VIS University is where the journey begins. All inspectors are encouraged to complete resource modules prior to deployment. We recommend that you complete all of our available courses as soon as possible in order to be ready when you are called for deployment.

Suggested Modules

The ultimate goal of Vanguard Housing Inspection Services is to provide quality disaster housing inspections to FEMA. In order to meet this goal, VIS has developed an extensive library of modules to guide inspectors on their journey.

VIS University – Teams and Classroom Training

VIS offers classroom training and/or briefings for inspectors as part of disaster deployments. Microsoft Teams training is offered via invitation during non-disaster periods. As part of each training type, our experienced training team will provide assistance on entering disaster damages in ACE 5 while also providing best practices for maximizing your production of high quality inspections.

Classroom training schedule and registration is located in the Inspector Portal under the Training tab. Click on Training Sessions to view and register for upcoming classes. Allowable reimbursable expenses for traveling to classroom training are covered in the VIS Travel Policy.

Maximum allowable travel expenses for training are detailed within the VIS Travel Policy, available in the Resource Library on the VT&E.
