Vanguard Housing Inspection Services is looking for disaster housing inspectors and field personnel in Puerto Rico. VIS is working with FEMA to expedite the background process for new inspectors and will be conducting daily onboarding events in San Juan.   This event is for Puerto Rico residents that are registered in the Risk Manager Inspector Portal, marked Available, and registered for the Puerto Rico Onboarding and Prescreening. A preliminary background pre-screening and credit check will be conducted prior to event.   If you live in Puerto Rico and have not yet received your FEMA PIV badge, and not previously denied, login to the Inspector Portal and register for the Puerto Rico Onboarding and Prescreening class under the Training tab.  Once you have successfully passed the initial prescreen and credit check, you will be notified where to attend FEMA fingerprinting and background process.   To be included you must:

• Be a U.S. Citizen residing in Puerto Rico
  • If you were born outside of the U.S., you must bring your U.S. Passport or Naturalization Certificate with you to the event.
• Complete inspector registration in the Risk Manager Inspector Portal and submit all required forms.
• Not currently have a FEMA PIV badge (and have not previously been denied)
• Undergo and must pass a Background Check, Fingerprint Identification, and a Credit Check. A felony conviction in the past 5 years may prohibit your success.
• If you have concerns about your credit history, please review your credit report. Address and resolve any credit discrepancies or issues that are past due prior to arriving in San Juan, such as, but not limited to:
  • Delinquent federal debt, such as taxes or school loans
  • Child or Alimony delinquency
  • An active bankruptcy
• Be available to deploy immediately after receiving your badge
• Commit to a minimum of a 3 week deployment

Vanguard Housing Inspection Services busca inspectores de vivienda en casos de desastre y personal de campo para llevar a cabo la inspección de viviendas las residencies afectadas por el desastre reciente, así como también personal de campo adicional para ayudar en este esfuerzo.   Todas las personas interesadas en unirse a Vanguard IS deben ser Ciudadanos de los Estados Unidos y residente en Puerto Rico.   Vanguard IS, en asociación con FEMA, llevará a cabo un evento acelerado de incorporación para los inspectores recientemente registrados o actualmente registrados pero que no cuenta con la identificación de FEMA en San Juan (Localización TBD). Se le requerirá que complete y pase una verificación de antecedentes, identificación de huellas dactilares y verificación de crédito.   La asistencia a este evento acelerado de incorporación es solo por invitación, y se extenderá a los residentes de Puerto Rico que no cuenten con la identificación de FEMA y que estén registrados en el Vanguard IS Inspector Portal (https://fema.myriadexchange.com). Se le pedirá que marque disponible al registrarse para ser considerado elegible para asistir. Antes del evento se llevará a cabo una pre-evaluación preliminar y verificación de crédito.   Consideraciones adicionales para la elegibilidad para asistir:  

• Si nació fuera de los EE. UU., debe traer consigo su pasaporte de EE. UU. (No caducado) y el Certificado de naturalización al evento.
• Complete el registro del inspector en el Risk Manager Inspector Portal y presente todos los formularios de firma requeridos (Pestaña: “Inspector Portal/Documents”). Estos formularios se completarán en el evento.
• Actualmente no posee una identificación de FEMA PIV (y no se la ha denegado anteriormente).
• Debe comprometerse a un mínimo de 3 semanas de implementación.
• Esté disponible para movilizarse (en ubicaciones designadas en la isla) inmediatamente después de recibir su identificación.
• Si tiene dudas sobre su historial de crédito, revise su informe de crédito. Resuelva cualquier discrepancia de crédito o problemas que estén vencidos antes de llegar a San Juan, tales como, pero no limitado a:
  • Deudas federales morosas, como impuestos o préstamos escolares.
  • delincuencia infantil o de pensión alimenticia
  • o una bancarrota activa
