How Often will I be Paid during a Deployment?
As an independent contractor, you must submit invoices to Vanguard IS in order to receive payment. Invoices are received Wednesday through Tuesday and approved invoices are paid 10 days after the Tuesday cut-off. You will complete all of your invoicing through Vanguard IS's Electronic Expense Report including inspections.
How do I Submit and Expense Report?
Expense reports are accepted Wednesday-Tuesday 11:59pm EST. You will complete all of your invoicing through Vanguard Housing Inspection Services's Electronic Expense Report system following our rules and guidelines per the Inspector Invoicing Guide and the Travel Policy.
How are Inspectors Paid?
Inspectors for Vanguard IS receive a per-inspection fee for all properly completed inspections, and are reimbursed for allowable travel expenses associated with deployments or an approved training session. In order to be reimbursed, inspectors must submit an invoice and expense report through the Inspector Portal. Expenses must be in accordance with the Vanguard IS Travel Policy, and the number of claimed inspections will be verified against verified inspection data.
Can Review staff make changes without speaking directly to the inspector?
Reviewers have the capability to make changes to an inspection, but will always contact the inspector to verify changes are necessary.
How do Contractor Corrections (CCORs) affect my performance?
Even though the number of CCORs an inspector receives has no monetary deduction, it is reviewed and taken into consideration with regards to the amount of inspections assigned to him/her over the course of a deployment and status for future disasters. The better the CCOR rate, the better the deployment status.
Am I penalized for FEMA Corrections (FCORs)?
Yes; however, if the FCOR can be corrected by the initial inspector or corrected internally by the Review team, the initial inspector will receive payment for the inspection. If another inspector must be sent to complete the FCOR, the initial inspector will not receive payment.
Will Review be available after hours or on weekends?
If you have a question outside of stated disaster working hours, please call the Inspector Helpline (855-482-6447; Option 5) to leave a message on the review line. This voicemail box is monitored and your call will be returned as soon as possible. If there is an urgent need, the field supervisor or team leader should be contacted.
If I am in the field and have questions about an inspection who can I contact?
